Waxing performed at NUA is conducted under highly sterile conditions with only the best health & safety practices employed. The wax temperature is approximately 50C and is not uncomfortable when applied to the skin. It actually feels kind of nice!

A warm shower before coming in for your waxing treatment is highly recommended as this opens the hair follicle and cleanses the skin of any excess oils & moisturizers making the treatment much easier to perform. If it is not convenient to shower before you come in, that is OK! Our highly professional waxing technicians at NUA are able to perform their waxing duties under all conditions! If it is your preference to shower at NUA, we have shower facilities available. In that case it would be appreciated if you can please come 10-15 minutes earlier than your appointed time.

For optimum waxing results it is best to have hair that is between 0.5cm & 1cm in length. If you have been shaving, it is best to wait a minimum of 14 days after you last shaved before you are able to wax. This may sound like a long time, but once waxed, you can expect a minimum of 2-3 weeks of smooth, hair free skin. At NUA, we do not recommend that you trim your hair before your appointment as you may trim it too short for us to give you a good wax. If your hair is too long, we will trim it for you.

Subsequent waxing appointments at NUA are recommended every 4 – 6 weeks. Our technicians will always happily discuss what is best for you and your hair/skin type.

Waxing over a long period of time reduces hair growth in the treatment area greatly. Your waxed hair also grows back a lot slower and softer which makes the skin feel smoother and appear more luminous. Waxing does not make your hair grow back stubbly which causes itchiness & irritation. After waxing you will barely notice your hair growing back at all! Male clients will also notice that waxing can decrease their body temperature, as well as adding more definition to the more toned areas of the body. It is true that for some people, regular waxing has made the hair disappear completely and at NUA we are totally committed to helping you manage your hair. Body hair that is!!!

How much hair you would like removed from your body is entirely up to you! The technicians at NUA are always happy to consult with you so you & your body are satisfied and comfortable with your hair removal!

Although we would always love to see you at NUA, coming during “THAT” time of the month is not recommended as it can be a little bit more uncomfortable for you.
